Southern Pacific Railroad, Aromas was founded in the mid-1800s. Approximately 2,500 people called the
community home as of 2019. Aromas is served by the Aromas-San Juan Unified School District, including the
local Aromas School, and the district offers small class sizes.
 
Primarily a residential community, life in Aromas is quiet and peaceful. No major attractions are found here, which
is considered an asset to many residents. Community events, shopping, and outdoor recreation is available in the surrounding areas, including Gilroy and Salinas. This convenient location offers the best of both worlds – a serene
